When Ribič opened its doors in the mid-1960s, its mission was to serve food that was both simple and extraordinary. The restaurant was founded by Marija Huzak, a woman of refined taste, exceptional hospitality, and a culinary vision that soon won the hearts of local guests and well-intentioned travelers.
The story behind the name
The name of Restaurant Ribič was a tribute to its first guests - the fishermen along the river Krapina, once rich with freshwater fish and flowing right beside the restaurant. In honor of Ribič’s roots, it was the meat dishes, rather than the fish, that put the restaurant on the culinary map. Through six decades, the spirit of its beginnings has remained the same - simplicity, freshness, and authentic homemade flavor.
